Norway Ink 13 agreements with India

In a major development that aims at strengthening bilateral relations between India and Norway, the Indian president Pranab Mukherjee inked 13 crucial agreements with Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg on the second or concluding day of the President’s visit to Scandinavian nation.

The agreements, which amplitude from a declaration with the aim between the DRDO (defense research and development organisation) and the NDRE (Norwegian defense research establishment) for setting up a status for the fishing farm unit outside Delhi and also IIT-Kanpur, Hyderabad University and many other educational institutions are reaching harmony with their Norwegian counterparts.

Norway prime minister Erna said that Norway would open a new consulate in Mumbai, when the President announced that the Norwegian tourists will be given soon VoA (visa on arrival) facility in one of a joint business gathering.

In a bid to enlarge its vulnerability to India, the President suggested that Norway’s 900 billion dollars pension fund, given to the Modi’s government which aims to create an ennobling business environment. Ms. Erna said that pension fund decision are made autonomously by the government, and stressed that Norway’s sovereign pension fund decisions are made on the acuity of the business environment and will invest where they feel they ought to.

Mr. Mukherjee concerned about the early conclusion to the enduring talks for free deal and venture agreement among India and European free trade association, for which Norway is one the prime member. The President referring to the Modi government’s angle to make in India, he said that the Indian government is devoted to business friendly environment, predictable, facilitatory and transparent.

Ms. Erna at a press meeting said that the Norwegian government did not forthright any kind of private investment but played a role of service provider to the business ventures.
