Scottish MPs appeal the UK to allow post-study work visas to international students

Members of Scottish Parliament appealed the United Kingdom Government to allow the foreign students to work after the successful completion of studies. MPs considered it as brain drain, as students obtaining the degrees are no more resourceful to the country.

Scottish affairs committee has said that the decline of 80% non-European students has incurred a loss of £ 250 million since 2012. Removal of post-study visas is affecting the economy, and sending negative waves to the international student community.

The United Kingdom Government would go through the proposals of the Members of Scottish Parliament. The intellectual community in Scotland is worried about the businesses lacking the global talent.

Scotland has set its target of 100 000 immigrants as the target for a decade. It believes in the system of quality migration, as the skilled migration can help the economy grow at rapid pace.
